A tooth jewel is applied to the selected tooth using an adhesive technique. A special bonding agent is used to attach the jewel to the etched tooth enamel. The etched area is only slightly larger than the tooth jewel itself. The tooth enamel is first thoroughly cleaned and, if necessary, gently roughened. The tooth jewel is then bonded to the selected tooth in several simple steps. Finally, the area around the tooth is carefully polished to remove any excess dental adhesive. The entire application takes approximately 30 minutes.

A tooth jewel can be applied anywhere as long as it does not interfere with the bite. The most common location is the upper lateral incisors – the so-called “second teeth”.
